Dr. Alam is an international development professional with over thirty years of professional experience to his credit. He has rich blended experience of working with the government of Bangladesh and different international development organizations, which include the World Bank, USAID, UNICEF, DANIDA, ADB, EU, WFP. His areas of specialization broadly are project management, monitoring and evaluation; policy reforms in the water and sanitation sector; disaster risk reduction; development research and policy analysis; training facilitation; and GO-NGO development partnership.
He studied political science at Chittagong University. He also obtained a Master’s degreein Urban Environmental Management from the Wageningen Agricultural University, the Netherlands, and achieved Ph.D. from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT).
He authored several books and published journal articles from home and abroad. He is a widely traveled professional.
